Horror Short Films

Welcome to the first episode of the All Sorts of Shorts podcast! This episode we looked at horror short films, in the wake of Halloween.

For this episode we decided to kick things of with just the three of us (Jamie Mills, Matthias Djan and Bernadeta Beange), no special guest, to give you guys a chance to get to know us a little better. We started the show by talking a little about who we are, how we met and the journey that we’re on. As well as discussing other horror feature films we like.

Then came the horror films:

Film Riot’s brand new short film, “There Comes a Knocking” is a tight and contained horror short that not only mark’s Ryan Connolly’s 16th short film, but is also intended to serve as a proof of concept for his first feature film.

Winner of Best Horror Film at Los Angeles Film Awards and Best Scare at Spookfest 2018. On the night of her 18th birthday, Emily’s family gather together to reveal a secret to her – a secret that will shape the rest of her life.

The directorial debut of “Stranger Things” writer Kate Trefry, this dark and wickedly fun short film stars Maika Monroe as a woman whose deepest fears seem to manifest physically when her husband leaves for the night shift.

Next episode will be out on Monday 11th Nov with the theme of Queer Fringe Festival. The films for that episode will be:

Crashing Waves (2018) Dir. Emma Gilbertson
Moon (2016) – Dir. Mafer López and Borrega Viuda
Sirene (2017) – Dir. Zara Dwinger
